  • Urge to improve - I am always looking for ways to improve, I welcome feedback and learn from it. I know there is still much I can learn in becomimg more skilled and efficient at my work.

I have known for some time that I want to work in the field of game art. It is my greatest passion and what truly motivates me. Of course, passion alone is not enough reason to hire someone, so here are a few additional reasons to consider me as a candidate:

I already have experience working as a 2D artist within a game development team. I understand how to operate in a professional environment and collaborate effectively with others. I have worked in this role on university projects, and prior to my studies, I also completed an internship and worked at two different game companies. I worked at SneakyBox for six months, and the year before that, I completed an internship at Fluxo Games. I chose to leave in order to pursue my studies at Uppsala University, which I had planned for several years before starting work.

Another reason to consider me for a position in your company is that you would be investing in future potential. While I am currently looking for a summer internship, I will be seeking a long-term role after completing my studies. An internship would give you the opportunity to see how well I fit within your team and how effectively I can handle assigned tasks. At the same time, I gain valuable experience — a benefit for both sides.

Most importantly, I believe I have the potential to become a valuable member of your team. I am continuously working to improve my skills, and I am adaptable, eager to learn, and enjoy collaborating with others. I am enthusiastic and deeply passionate about game art. I often analyze the visual aspects of video games to understand what makes them successful and how they could be improved.

And while my goal is to become a character concept artist, I find other parts of game art interesting as well. I have experience working on environments, objects, UI and more. In the end, I believe a good character design is one, that carries the soul of the game itself: of it's world, design and story all intertwined.

I have been told and I also believe that I am a strong fit for this industry, and I am excited to continue growing along this path. Feel free to contact me and see for yourself.

Why do I want this?

As I have mentioned, I know that working as a game artist is the path for me. I have been creating, designing, and drawing my whole life and do not see that ever changing. This leads me to explain why I am looking for an internship as a 2D artist in a game company:

I have already worked on multiple projects, as well as in a professional environment, and have found that it is the ideal place for me. I enjoy every step that goes into creating art — from research and ideation, to the concept stage, and finally to the finished in-game piece. Being part of making a game also drives me to keep improving my skills and contributing to the project itself. Every game I have worked on has been great fun to create, even with the challenges that came with the process.

I see an internship as a great opportunity to build my experience. That means not only improving my art skills and portfolio, but also learning more about the game industry and the development process. It would be a new environment, a new game, a new art style, and new coworkers that I can adapt to and familiarize myself with. Moreover, it is a great networking opportunity — getting to know more people who already work in the field and who can inspire and teach me not only about art, but also about video games and how a company operates.

Last but not least, I believe it is the best way to spend my summer. It is not only fun and exciting, but also a valuable learning experience and a productive way to spend my time, helping me in my job search after my studies.

In the end, any kind of experience in the video game industry and the field I want to work in for the rest of my life is very valuable to me. I also believe, that I can become a valuable part of a team in this field. Therefore, consider me for the position of a 2D game artist intern for your company and see if I can meet your standards!
